About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Monitor in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, visitor screening, credential verification, and/or employee entry and exit monitoring at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor truck gate activity, check inbound and outbound drivers, verify shipping and receiving documentation, and report unusual activity or unauthorized access attempts in line with site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, trailer yards, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and support security-related operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and daily activity records related to visitor access, deliveries, key control, and other security-related matters.
