As a Security Officer Access Gate Attendant in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location as an Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or drivers by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, badge readers, and/or visitor check-in areas to help manage authorized entry and exit for personnel, vendors, and deliveries.
  • Verify identification, credentials, work authorizations, and/or visitor records in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual activity or access concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and supporting security-related response efforts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
