About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Entry in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols to help support a secure environment. In this role, you will remain visible, assist with badge and visitor entry activity, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points for the facility, verify credentials and/or shipping documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to buildings, loading areas, and restricted spaces.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, including warehouse, trailer, parking, and gate areas, with attention to unusual activity and/or policy violations.
  • Support day-to-day logistics operations by managing visitor and contractor check-in processes, maintaining accurate access records, and communicating clearly with site personnel regarding deliveries, pickups, and access-related issues.
