About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Spokane, WA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced manufacturing and industrial location where you will support access control by greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, managing sign-in procedures, and monitoring entry points. You will conduct routine patrols and document security-related activity while remaining highly visible to help reduce unwanted incidents. Bring strong communication and customer service as you partner with site teams, act with integrity, and deliver through teamwork in a caring culture.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Being able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Operate access control points by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor documentation; issue and collect badges and/or passes per post orders.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit, verify delivery and contractor credentials, and direct traffic flow to designated gates, docks, and check-in areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications, reports, and follow-up documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or unusual activity.
