About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. In this customer-facing role, you will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and deliver outstanding communication while helping to deter incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, badge verification, and visitor check-in activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, review credentials and/or delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and client guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and/or records of visitor activity, access events, and unusual observations while following established security-related procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, as assigned, to identify potential access control issues, report maintenance concerns, and support a professional location environment.
