As a Security Officer - Access Control in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control or badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, managing access control points, and supporting authorized entry for employees, visitors, and contractors at the location.
  • Verify credentials, monitor entry and exit activity, and document visitor and vehicle information in accordance with site policies and applicable access requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Monitor restricted areas and access control systems to help identify unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas, entry points, and perimeter locations as directed, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
