Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, maintain visitor logs, and report unusual activity or access concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related events and communicating clearly with staff, guests, and public agency representatives.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, gates, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for maintenance, security-related, and/or operational concerns.
  • Support vehicle and pedestrian screening processes, provide directions and policy guidance, and help maintain orderly access flow for authorized personnel and visitors.
