About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Palmdale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech location as an Armed Access Control Officer, where you will help manage entry points, verify badges and credentials, and monitor assigned areas for security-related concerns. In this customer-facing role, you will remain visible, support a professional atmosphere, and deliver strong communication and service while reflecting our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a California Weapons Permit with 9mm caliber endorsement.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, credential checks, visitor processing, and/or other security-related policies.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity through appropriate site protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including communicating instructions, controlling access points, and coordinating with site contacts and/or first responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns, access control issues, and/or conditions that may need attention.
