About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Canton, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with X-ray screening is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures, badge and credential verification practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, process visitor check-in and check-out activity, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns, observations, and actions taken.
  • Communicate with site contacts, employees, and guests regarding access requirements, delivery procedures, and security-related policies and/or directions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, lobbies, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting maintenance, access, and/or security-related issues.
