About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Reception in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government aviation location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and assist visitors and personnel with professionalism. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming, secure environment while helping to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and passengers while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government aviation location.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and authorization before granting access to restricted areas; maintain visitor logs and issue or collect access credentials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and entry activity; report suspicious activity, access-control concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and contacting emergency services and/or supervisory personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
