About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Check Specialist in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. In this Access Control role, you may conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, managing entry and exit points, and supporting security-related protocols for the location.
  • Monitor and document the movement of people, vehicles, and deliveries at designated access points, helping to deter unauthorized entry and reporting unusual activity, policy violations, and/or concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, while observing for security-related issues, facility concerns, and/or disruptions to normal operations.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and pass-down communications related to visitor management, contractor access, incident activity, and other daily security-related responsibilities.
