About The Position

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is an internationally accredited agency whose mission is to protect life and property, promote traffic safety and provide professional public safety services with respect, compassion, and unbiased professionalism. Requirements

  • Formal education that includes reading, writing & speaking English.
  • Valid driver's license (if making security rounds in vehicle).
  • Ability to obtain required certifications by end of probationary period and maintain valid certifications for first aid/C.P.R/Automated External Defibrillator (i.e., AED) if assigned responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine security checks of the premise.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment for malfunction or safety violation.
  • Monitor the operation of boilers & the heating, ventilating & air conditioning systems & notifies supervisors &/or maintenance personnel of any problems.
  • Check for fire, leaks, weather induced damage, correct lighting, building hazards &/or unauthorized persons.
  • Respond to inquiries by telephone, radio &/or in person & record such actions in the appropriate log.
  • Screen facility visitors, admitting or denying admission as directed.
