About The Position

This role is responsible for protecting guests, employees, and casino assets. The Security Officer will respond efficiently and effectively to requests for emergency or security assistance, control emergency situations, and minimize risk. They will follow established security protocols, develop and maintain effective working relationships, and investigate incidents by gathering and analyzing information. The position may involve providing First Aid and CPR when trained and certified, escorting money and asset transfers, and patrolling casino parking lots. The Security Officer will monitor the casino for issues related to excessive alcohol consumption or unacceptable behavior, acting to resolve situations calmly and professionally. They are responsible for maintaining proper uniform and license, reporting violations, and exercising caution and evaluation before taking action, keeping the supervisor informed of concerns. Additionally, the role involves verifying customer age, providing wristbands, and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in security operations, preferably within a gaming environment.
  • Demonstrated effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, including contact with employees, customers, and law enforcement.
  • Experience handling difficult customer relations and incidents.
  • Demonstrated experience in crowd control.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on application of self-defense skills.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • One (1) or more years of recent and related experience in security, preferably in a gaming environment.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a law enforcement or criminal justice course is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Protecting guests, employees, and casino assets.
  • Responding efficiently and effectively to requests for emergency or security assistance.
  • Controlling emergency situations and minimizing risk to employees and guests.
  • Following established security protocols to ensure property safety.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships and good customer service skills.
  • Investigating incidents by asking questions, taking and analyzing statements, securing and reporting evidence, and making accurate records.
  • Providing emergency First Aid and CPR when trained and certified, if needed.
  • Escorting the transfer of money and assets throughout the casino.
  • Assisting by lifting or carrying money and assets for fills or cage transfers.
  • Patrolling casino parking lots, including customer vehicles, shuttles, and charter buses.
  • Monitoring the casino for potential problems with excessive alcohol consumption and/or unacceptable behavior and acting to remedy situations.
  • Wearing and maintaining all uniforms properly, including nametag and gaming license.
  • Reporting violations of casino security policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining alertness and exercising caution and evaluation for appropriate security or safety response.
  • Keeping the supervisor informed of any concerns.
  • Verifying customers are 21+ years of age and providing them with wristbands.
  • Performing other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
