About The Position

As a Security Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, you play a critical leadership role in protecting guests, staff, and property while maintaining a discreet, polished atmosphere. This role involves strong operational oversight, proactive risk management, and ensuring safety and security procedures are upheld to the highest standards. You will oversee emergency preparedness, manage incident response, coordinate with local authorities, and lead a team committed to vigilance and service, creating an environment where hospitality can flourish without interruption. Requirements

  • One to two years of post-high school education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three to five years in security/loss prevention.
  • Thorough knowledge of the security hospitality fields and the relating practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of hotel and company policies and procedures and the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.
  • Supervisory/management skills.
  • Ability to perform CPR and first aid.
  • Able to communicate with employees, managers, guests; hear alarms.
  • Able to do visual safety inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospitality position or time in similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety, security, and emergency plans and programs for the hotel and peripheries.
  • Supervise Security staff, train hotel staff on safety and security procedures.
  • Conduct investigations and coordinate activities with outside agencies to ensure a safe/secure experience for guests and staff, protect hotel assets, and minimize liabilities and losses.
  • Investigate, analyze, and report on all incidents and accidents.
  • Coordinate activities and liaise with local and federal law enforcement agencies, fire companies, and insurance agencies.
  • Develop safety, security, and emergency procedures/action plans and monitor program implementation within corporate guidelines.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance and repair of safety-related equipment to ensure constant emergency readiness.
  • Train hotel staff on first aid, CPR, fire prevention, safety and equipment, accident prevention, security, and emergency procedures.
