About The Position

As the Security Manager supporting Amentum Technology Inc (ATI) on-site in Colorado Springs, CO, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight in collaboration with Amentum Security leadership for a high-profile national defense division. This role involves the direction, implementation, and management of a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary security program designed to protect personnel, information, and critical assets. You will serve as the senior security advisor to program leadership, developing and maintaining division-specific security policies, conducting risk assessments, and leading a diverse team of security professionals. The position also entails overseeing all aspects of physical security, industrial security, and ensuring compliance with NISPOM, DCSA, and specific division directives.

Requirements

  • Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • Must have 8, or more, years of directly related experience in a DoD or government contracting security environment, with at least 3 years in a security management role leading a team.
  • Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
  • Must have expert knowledge of the NISPOM and extensive experience managing DCSA security reviews.
  • Must have demonstrated experience managing multiple security disciplines (e.g., industrial, physical, personnel, and information security).
  • Must have experience with DISS, NISS, and other security-related databases.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Have 1, or more, of the following certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Industrial Security Professional (ISP), or other advanced security certification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day security program ensuring compliance with Amentum security policies, procedures and guidance while also ensuring compliance with NISPOM, DCSA and program specific security regulations.
  • Maintain Form DD254s and prepare/administer sub-DD-254s.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and program security representatives.
  • Develop and implement security procedures for access control, visitor management, and physical security, overseeing their execution by security personnel.
  • Conduct security self-inspections, prepare for DCSA security reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain program compliance.
  • Manage the personnel security clearance program using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
  • Process new clearance applications, periodic reinvestigations, and incident reports for all cleared personnel supporting the ATI mission.
  • Provide initial security briefings, annual refresher training, debriefings, and foreign travel/contact awareness training tailored to the threats facing the MDD community.
  • Maintain all required personnel security documentation and records with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Administer foreign travel briefings, track and record foreign travel notifications and debriefings, foreign contact and suspicious contact reports.
  • Serve as the senior security advisor to program leadership and liaison to Amentum Security leadership, providing expert guidance on all security-related matters.
  • In collaboration with Amentum security leadership, develop, implement, and maintain division specific security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with NISPOM, DCSA, and specific division directives.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address threats to the program.
  • Serve as the key security advisor to program division leadership on all industrial security risks and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to security staff and program personnel on security protocols.
  • Lead contract security discussions and interface with the Government’s Industrial Security Representative.
  • Brief senior program and Amentum security leadership on the status of the security program, as well as key issues impacting the mission.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of security professionals, including the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), physical security staff and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) specialists.
  • Oversee all aspects of physical security, including site security systems, account management, vendor management, system health monitoring, audit logging and coordinating service calls.
  • Oversee the industrial security program, ensuring the AFSO effectively manages personnel clearances, reporting requirements, and DCSA compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with senior government customers and DCSA representatives for all security program matters.
  • Ensure the program is prepared for all government security reviews and inspections, leading the response and any resulting corrective actions.
  • In collaboration with Amentum security leadership, conduct internal security investigations and manage the reporting of all security incidents.
  • Develop and manage the security education, training, and awareness program for all program personnel.
