About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Security, the Security Manager manages security activities and personnel assigned to a shift. The Manager supervises Security Supervisors and ensures compliance with all casino policies. The Security Manager provides leadership and direction to create a safe environment for all of Horseshoe’s guests, acting as a role model and coaching employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication. They endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesar's Entertainment, ensuring team members understand and are held accountable for their performance expectations. The role directs all activities on the assigned shift, monitors compliance with Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency regulations and company policies, and handles compliance matters for the Security Department. This includes supervising, training, and coordinating staff, monitoring incident reports for accuracy and completeness, initiating investigations, and managing the exclusion list. The Security Manager is accountable for service goals, customer complaints, and claims, determining manpower requirements, and scheduling personnel for maximum security coverage at minimal costs. They administer or supervise training programs for effective security of gaming and money handling, counsel personnel on duties, and cooperate with law enforcement agencies. The role is responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and employees, investigating incidents involving crime, employee misconduct, and casino welfare. They review and approve documents and instruct/train officers in daily duties including customer/employee relations, report writing, handling company funds, and critical incident management.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5 years of law enforcement experience and/or casino security experience
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must possess the ability to interact in a professional manner with the general public
  • Must possess investigation skills
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess excellent customer and employee relations skills
  • Must be able to instill a commitment to teamwork in shift personnel
  • Must possess strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions in response to critical incidents and employee conflicts
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Security Supervisors.
  • Ensures compliance with all casino policies.
  • Provides leadership and direction to create a safe environment for guests.
  • Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication.
  • Acts as a role model and coaches while developing employees.

  • Ensures that each team member clearly understands and is held accountable for their respective performance expectations.
  • Directs all activities on the assigned shift.
  • Monitors activity regarding Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency commission regulations and company policies to ensure effective performance.
  • Handles compliance matters related to the Security Department.
  • Supervises, trains, and coordinates staff to ensure compliance with all policies, and MLGCA regulations and court appearances.
  • Monitors incident reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and initiates investigation processes.
  • Monitors the exclusion list and ensures effective enforcement where appropriate.
  • Determines manpower requirements within shift hours and schedules personnel to provide maximum security coverage with minimal costs.
  • Administers or supervises the administering of training programs for assigned personnel that will ensure the effective security of gaming and money handling.
  • Counsels, guides, and instructs personnel on the proper performance of their duties.
  • Cooperates with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Is responsible for the safety and well being of guests and employees.
  • Investigates or supervises the investigation of various incidents involving crime, employee misconduct, and issues that concern the welfare of the casino and the surrounding facilities and neighborhood.
  • Is responsible for reviewing and approving all documents as needed.
  • Instructs, trains, and monitors officers in numerous daily duties including customer and employee relations, report writing, procedures in handling company funds, and critical incident management.
