About The Position

The Security Intern will assist the ITOPS department in identifying, classifying, and reporting security vulnerabilities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity by participating in security operations, event log data aggregation, and supporting the PCI DSS Sustainability Program. This position provides an opportunity to learn about information security practices and technologies in a corporate setting.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of networking, infrastructure, and application technologies.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
• Understanding of DHCP, EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), XDR (Extended Detection and Response), and Microsoft Graph API.
• Awareness of Microsoft Entra ID Protection and related identity management tools.
• Insight into data anonymization techniques and tools.
• Familiarity with ethical hacking and red teaming practices.
• Basic knowledge of O365 administration and telecommunications industry regulations (e.g., CPNI compliance).
• Basic knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and techniques
• Understanding of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and their role in identifying security vulnerabilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities.
• Participate in the collection and normalization of security event log data.
• Support the creation of alerts, responses, and reports based on incident risk.
• Collaborate with IT teams to maintain PCI DSS compliance.
• Assist in the creation, review, and update of security policies and procedures.
• Participate in information security incident response activities.
• Help with the preparation of security metrics and reports.
• Support the development and implementation of security awareness training.
• Assist in conducting security risk assessments and vulnerability assessments.
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents under supervision.
• Collaborate with different departments to integrate security best practices.
• Perform additional related duties as requested or required.
