About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of security systems, including CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, access control, and fire alarm systems. Your expertise will ensure that clients’ properties are protected with reliable, state-of-the-art security solutions. A strong foundation in electrical work, mechanical knowledge, and field service experience will set you up for success in this energetic role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician or installer in security or low voltage systems
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to security system installation
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts relevant to surveillance and alarm systems
  • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams accurately
  • Knowledge of surveillance technologies such as CCTV cameras, sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and low voltage cabling techniques
  • Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and construction practices for secure installations
  • Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards related to low voltage wiring and electrical safety regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently
  • Effective communication skills for working directly with clients and team members in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot security systems such as CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, access control devices, and fire alarm systems according to schematics and system design plans
  • Conduct cabling and wiring for low voltage security systems using hand tools and power tools with precision and safety
  • Configure remote access software and integrate security components with existing telecommunication networks
  • Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance of all installed equipment
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute installations
  • Provide on-site service support by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on security hardware
  • Collaborate with clients to explain system features, conduct training sessions, and ensure customer satisfaction after installation
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including installation logs, service reports, and system configurations
