About The Position

The Security Install Technician is responsible for performing the installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. This role is fully functioning within core technical responsibilities and can complete standard installation jobs. The technician ensures systems are installed properly, meet customer expectations, and comply with applicable codes and standards. Sonitrol of Louisville, a proud part of Pye-Barker, has been a leader in the security industry for over 50 years. Due to our continued growth, we have a position for a Security System Installer with a positive attitude. We’re looking for full-time employees, working 7:30-4:30 M-F, installing security systems. We provide commercial solutions for access control, fire alarm, CCTV, and intrusion systems.

Requirements

  • Experience with power hand tools and working from a ladder/lift
  • Ability to run wire and hang devices in a commercial environment
  • Must have strong work ethic
  • Have valid driver’s license
  • Be flexible to occasional weekend/2nd shift and out-of-town work
  • Be able to follow directions and work independently and in a team setting
  • Strong computer skills
  • A high school education or equivalent required.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Maybe required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to walk and stand.
  • Comfortable reaching, climbing (ladder/stairs) and bending.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate via telephone.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • No security industry experience is necessary, but candidates must have the ability to work with power tools, work on a ladder/lift, and be good with their hands.
  • Some technical school training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems.
  • Ensuring systems are installed properly, meet customer expectations, and comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in service on-call rotation with other technicians.
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Adheres to attendance policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
