About The Position

Allied Universal Technology Services is hiring a Security Installation Technician III to lead commercial security installations for enterprise clients. The role involves installing, programming, configuring, and troubleshooting electronic security and IP-based systems, including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems. The technician leads field installation teams, coordinates work and equipment delivery with Project Managers, manages multiple medium- to large-sized jobs, and verifies that systems operate effectively and meet codes and contract requirements. The position requires travel to customer sites in a company-issued vehicle and may require overnight travel on an as-needed basis. The technician must also be available for rotational on-call duty and complete daily time entry from home via the Internet.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2–3 years of experience in physical security, fire alarm, or low-voltage communications, including installing field devices, programming systems, and running medium- to large-sized jobs.
Possess or be able to obtain required state licensing after hire, such as a Low Voltage D license or Alarm Installer license.
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Good communication skills for interacting effectively with internal and external customers.
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.
Clean driving record: no major violations in the last 36 months, no more than one accident in the last 24 months, and no more than one minor moving violation in the last 24 months.
Meet the minimum insurance level required by company policy and safely operate a vehicle.
Ability to complete daily time entry from home via the Internet.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Project.
Ability and track record of loading servers with third-party applications and deploying IP video solutions.
General working knowledge of network architecture.
Ability to travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager with on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment.
Connect control panels; meet application requirements; conceal wiring; and install security software.
Install, program, and configure commercial electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low-voltage communications, electronic locks, point sensors, and signaling devices.
Troubleshoot new installations to ensure systems function properly and satisfy applicable codes.
Demonstrate Allied Universal’s core values as a skilled leader on the Installation Team.
Supervise multiple teams of Security Installation Technicians I and II.
Manage several medium- to large-sized jobs simultaneously within approved hours and margin tolerances.
Travel to client sites in a company-issued vehicle to install systems and confirm they operate effectively and meet contract requirements.
Install electrical wiring, panels, cables, and security devices.
Deliver product familiarization training to end users.
Complete daily time entry from home via the Internet.
Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by the manager.
Be available for on-call work on a rotational basis.
