About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking a reliable, dependable, and professional Security Guard to support operations in the Eden Valley area of Alberta. This position requires daily travel of approximately one hour each way to and from the work site. The successful candidate will help maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring site activities, conducting patrols, controlling access, and reporting incidents as required. Preference will be given to qualified local Indigenous applicants.

Requirements

  • Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) / Flagger Certification (Mandatory).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Mandatory).
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel approximately one hour each way for shifts.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and observation skills.
  • Ability to work day or night shifts as required.
  • Ability to remain alert and professional throughout the shift.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding work.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence (considered an asset but not required).
  • Previous security, industrial, camp, construction, or safety-related experience.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (asset).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and secure assigned work sites and facilities.
  • Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols.
  • Control site access and verify authorized personnel.
  • Observe and report safety concerns, hazards, and suspicious activity.
  • Complete daily reports and incident documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with workers, visitors, and site management.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and security-related incidents.
  • Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures.
