About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 with a mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of private and public sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires a commitment to serving client and employee needs to enhance the organization's success.

Requirements

MUST Ontario Security Guard License
MUST Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
MUST be able to obtain Reliability Security Clearance- minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada
Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
Ability to complete frequent patrols
Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)
Able to multi-task and work well with little to no supervision
Excellent customer service and reception skills
As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Operation of the gate house over a 24 hrs period
Meet vehicles entering the Cadet Training Centre (CTC)
Identify where vehicles intend to travel to
Take vehicle information prior to entering CTC
Check ID/vehicle passes before allowing entrance to the CTC
Contact Ops to verify personnel allowed to enter the CTC
Direct personnel to the appropriate location, i.e. Ops Reception, HQ, Warehouse, etc.
