About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Shippingport, Pennsylvania, to serve and safeguard clients in manufacturing and industrial settings. In this access-control role, the officer helps manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and maintain access records. The role involves remaining visible to deter incidents while providing customer service and clear communication. Schedules available are 5:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. The officer is scheduled for 40 hours per week with two days off. Pay is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific access-control procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, issue visitor and contractor passes, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
Screen incoming deliveries, vehicles, tools, and materials according to site procedures, and direct authorized personnel to appropriate locations.
Respond calmly and in a problem-solving manner to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations, escalating issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
