About The Position

Mercy Retirement & Care Center is seeking a Security Guard to help keep its Oakland community and residents safe and secure. The center provides assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services, with a focus on exceptional, person-centered care. The role supports campus security and emergency response while promoting the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• In California facilities, hold a California Guard Card from BSIS.
• Complete a background check and other required state or local pre-employment screening, which may include a drug screen, fingerprinting, or a physical.
• Ability to walk around the campus or community for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a security officer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide campus security by ensuring doors are locked and walking the grounds.
• Complete light maintenance requests as needed.
• Escort residents or fellow team members to vehicles as needed.
• Assist with emergency response procedures and comply with state, local, and community guidelines.
• Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
