About The Position

Northwestern State University of Louisiana is seeking a Security Guard to help maintain the safety and security of facilities, grounds, students, faculty, staff, visitors, and property at its Leesville Instructional Site. The role assists University Police and campus administration by monitoring buildings and grounds, controlling access to facilities, responding to security concerns, and supporting safe campus operations.

This is a full-time, probational or promotional appointment at the NSU Leesville Campus. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM–12:00 PM. No experience or training is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license. A felony conviction or pending felony indictment disqualifies an applicant until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and University property at the NSU Leesville Campus.
• Conduct routine patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and grounds to identify and address potential safety and security concerns.
• Monitor campus security systems, control building access, and respond to alarms and incidents.
• Maintain accurate security records and reports.
• Manage campus key inventory, visitor access procedures, parking permits, and parking violations in accordance with University policies.
• Coordinate with University Police, local law enforcement, and campus administration to support emergency response, safety inspections, and campus security operations.
