About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Transportation Services is hiring a Guard to help provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors. The position performs security patrols of campus buildings and grounds, monitors access to facilities, responds to emergencies and disturbances, and supports public safety. Additional duties include directing traffic, enforcing parking regulations, issuing citations, coordinating vehicle impoundments, installing traffic control devices, maintaining departmental equipment, and providing customer service. The Guard communicates with the public, assists during athletic and special events, completes accurate documentation, and works with others to support daily campus operations and ensure compliance with university policies and regulations.

Requirements

No experience or training is required.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course.
May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.
An applicant convicted of a felony or under indictment on a felony charge is disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
