Security Guard
About The Position
MTC is proud to operate the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. This role involves patrolling center grounds, managing front desks for guest sign-in and temporary badge distribution, monitoring staff and student ID badges, and ensuring the safety of staff, students, and visitors. The position includes control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year security experience
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 lbs
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Secure building and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintain log of findings and corrective action taken
- Perform parking and traffic control duties
- Answer telephone calls and greet and assist visitors
- Assist supervisors and manager assuring accountability of students check-in and out according to established policies and procedures
- Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required
- Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires and reset fire alarm equipment
- Promote, support, and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility
