About The Position

Paladin Security is seeking experienced and professional Security Guards to join our team at the TransAlta Industrial Site in Wabamun, Alberta. This role is ideal for security professionals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are committed to maintaining a safe and secure workplace. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, perform proactive security patrols, respond to emergencies, and work closely with clients, emergency responders, and site personnel. This position offers an attractive 7-on/7-off schedule and the opportunity to work at a respected industrial facility.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Alberta Security Services License
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Minimum 1 year of security experience
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical fitness suitable for industrial security duties and extensive patrols
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience using CCTV and Access Control systems
  • Emergency management experience or knowledge
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of security experience
  • Previous industrial, utility, energy, or critical infrastructure security experience
  • Experience working in command and control environments
  • Emergency response or incident management experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors, and visitors
  • Conduct proactive security patrols to ensure site safety and identify potential hazards or policy violations
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents in a timely and professional manner
  • De-escalate crisis situations and coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services as required
  • Exercise crowd control and remove unauthorized individuals from site when necessary
  • Complete detailed incident, liability, emergency, and daily activity reports
  • Monitor and utilize CCTV, access control systems, radios, and computer applications
  • Manage Lost & Found inquiries and property
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility
  • Enforce site rules, policies, and safety procedures
  • Support emergency management and incident response activities
