Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, common areas, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and shift communications.
