About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is opening in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 25 years. This enhanced integrated delivery system aims to provide high-quality care to all District residents, with a particular focus on residents of Wards 7 and 8. The hospital will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion, a 550-car parking garage, and a helipad. We are seeking a Security Guard - SPO (Part-Time, Nights) to provide safety and security services, protecting patients, personnel, and property by enforcing District of Columbia laws and hospital policies. The Security Guard will also determine appropriate actions during emergency situations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Police Officer (SPO) commission issued by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department.
• Physical screening for SPO commission
• Drug Screening for SPO commission
• Fingerprint screening (Background check) for SPO commission
• Be of good moral character
• Be able to read, write, and speak the English language
• Be certified by a licensed physician as physically and psychologically fit to perform the duties of a special officer
• Must be able to speak and communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
• Strong customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security and/or supervisory experience preferred
• Able to work Flexible hours.
