About The Position

We are seeking a diligent and observant Security Guard to manage access control, conduct patrols, monitor surveillance, respond to emergencies, provide resident services, and maintain detailed reports for our property. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of our residents and premises.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
• No disqualifying criminal history (felonies or certain thefts).
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts and speak professionally with residents.
• Punctuality is essential.
• Ability to stand for long periods and walk several flights of stairs during patrols.
• Basic computer literacy for digital logs, visitor management software, and camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing the main lobby or gatehouse, verifying identities, checking in guests/vendors, and preventing unauthorized entry.
• Conducting regular patrols of the property, including hallways, stairwells, parking garages, and perimeters, to check for security issues.
• Actively monitoring CCTV feeds and responding to alerts from motion sensors or intrusion alarms.
• Acting as a first responder for medical emergencies, fire alarms, or domestic disturbances until professional help arrives.
• Handling package deliveries, answering tenant inquiries, and assisting with minor facility issues.
• Maintaining a daily "Shift Log" and writing detailed "Incident Reports" for any unusual occurrences, thefts, or safety breaches.
