Security Guard Luxury Retail Environment
About The Position
We're looking for a security officer who brings both professionalism and presence to a confidential luxury fashion boutique in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan. This isn't a static post - you'll be the first face guests encounter and the calm authority in the room when things get busy. Crowd control and guest flow management are core parts of this role, and the ability to handle high-traffic situations confidently and calmly is a must. You'll work alongside a close-knit team in a curated, client-facing environment where discretion, judgment, and presence matter just as much as your credentials. We're looking for candidates with prior experience in luxury retail, hospitality, or concierge-style security. If you also have a background in law enforcement, military, corrections, or similar - and you take pride in doing the job right - we'd love to hear from you.
Requirements
- Valid New York State Security Guard License - required before your first day
- Ability to stand for extended periods and remain alert throughout the shift
- Reliable transportation and a consistent track record of showing up on time
- Availability for weekend scheduling and on-call assignments
Nice To Haves
- Background in law enforcement, military, corrections, security, or similar roles - preferred
- Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, concierge-style security, or other guest-facing environments - a strong plus
- Sharp situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - you interact with high-end clientele daily
- Professional demeanor, polished appearance, and strict discretion at all times
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible presence within the boutique - greeting guests while staying alert to what's happening around you
- Monitor store activity and guest movement with strong situational awareness
- Manage guest flow during busy retail periods, weekends, and retail activations
- Identify and de-escalate disruptive or suspicious behavior with calm, direct communication
- Communicate clearly with store leadership regarding incidents or operational concerns
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clientele and store operations
- Complete incident reports and documentation when required
- Represent the boutique's standard of professionalism in every interaction - appearance and conduct included
