About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 with a mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services including uniformed guard, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires a commitment to serving client and employee needs to enhance organizational success.

Requirements

Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Valid WSIB approved First Aid and CPR certificate
Able to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance (requires 5 years of residency in Canada)
Comfortable wearing PPE specified by client such as hard hat and safety boots
Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
Ability to complete frequent patrols
Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions
Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)
Excellent customer service
Highly reliable
Work well under pressure
Able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to multitask
Professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak French is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Escorting contractors as required
Observe contractor tools and vehicles to make sure they are kept safely away from the inmates
Ensuring contractors adhere to the regulations
Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary
Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the property
Job duties primarily take place outdoors
Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
