Requirements

  • Must complete the Commissionaires Security Officer Course
  • Must be able to obtain a Level II (SECRET) security Clearance
  • Must be minimum 19 years of age.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with computers and security technology (e.g., CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems).
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter. Verify identification and issue temporary passes as needed.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to identify and respond to any security breaches.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk. This includes coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as required.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other security documentation as needed. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other security personnel.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.
