Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government office location.
  • Maintain an armed presence in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies; report observed concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; request additional assistance and support emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, entry points, public-facing spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access activity, verify visitor authorization as directed, maintain accurate daily activity reports, and document incidents using site-required procedures.
