As a Security Guard Experienced Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication while bringing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to each shift.

Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the interior and exterior areas of the location, observing for unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations that could require a security-related response.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity, support orderly operations, and report suspicious behavior or conditions.
  • Assist with de-escalation support when appropriate, provide clear directions to residents and visitors, and follow post orders for emergency situations, medical incidents, and/or evacuations.
