About The Position

A.S.P. Incorporated is seeking Security Guards for a major transportation organization, Metrolinx, in multiple GTA locations, operating on a 24/7 basis. The ideal candidate will have previous security experience and be able to provide highly visible service in a professional, competent, and courteous manner, utilizing excellent communication and customer service skills. The Security Guard is responsible for securing and protecting clients, their guests, vendors, and the property itself, working with integrity and awareness.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Minimum of 1 year of prior security experience, transportation or industrial sites preferred
Eligible to work in Canada
Ability to work in both indoors and outdoor environments, think critically, perform safely, and work with a team
Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License
Must possess valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification (Standard Level C)
Must possess valid G driver’s license with zero demerit points (rail facilities only)
Strong written and verbal communication, including radio use
Ability to work 40 hours per week is mandatory for full-time staff, inclusive of holidays and weekends
Availability of two days per week is mandatory for casual staff
Able to walk extended distances, including stairs, in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

Provide protection from theft, vandalism, and trespassing
Conduct locks and unlocks of doors, gates, and fences
Office support such as reception tasks, receiving mail and packages, and answering phone calls
Monitor the properties via CCTV and the Access Control System
Ensure all persons entering the facilities sign the visitor’s log on arrival and departure
Engage in professional, collaborative, and proactive security services
Perform foot patrols on site on an ongoing hourly basis
Perform vehicle patrols on an hourly basis (for rail facilities only)
Prevention of loitering and soliciting
Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents and alarms as required
Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents
Ensure all site equipment is secure
Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, and PSISA regulations, etc.
Be responsible for keys and other equipment such as cellphones and radios
Provide customer service and collaboration with visitors, staff, contractors, and other personnel
Escalate to emergency services when necessary
Submit daily reports and incident reports
Perform other relevant functions as required
