Security Guard - City of Kelowna Operations KSOC Weekends
About The Position
Commissionaires BC is looking for an experienced security officer to join their onsite operations team working with the City of Kelowna. This role involves monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, handling public and employee calls, maintaining logs, producing reports, and conducting client follow-ups. The company is a Canadian, not-for-profit security and enforcement organization established in 1927, with a mandate to support those who have served in the community and country. They provide security services across various sites and communities in the province for a diverse client base.
Requirements
- A valid BC Security License
- AST training (or willingness to obtain prior to starting role)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment
- Previous experience monitoring multiple CCTV cameras simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven time-management and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- A Class 5 BC Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
- Occupational first aid level 1
- Advanced security training
Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV cameras and fire/alarm systems and reporting any suspicious activity
- Take incoming calls from the public, police and/or employees in a timely manner
- Maintaining a detailed log after the end of each shift
- Producing ad hoc reports as required by various departments
- Conducting follow-up reviews with clients to ensure client satisfaction
- Any other ad-hoc duties may be assigned
