As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, entrances, common spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor activity and resident movement.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
