Requirements

Baton permit will be required in order to be fully hired for this position.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A pepper spray certification is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, service calls, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observed conditions to supervisors and/or local authorities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points and support access control procedures by verifying credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and documenting security-related incidents and/or unusual activity.
Complete routine reports and logs, observe for maintenance or environmental concerns, and report issues that may impact daily operations or public access.
