Requirements

  • Computer proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working with youth preferred
  • Security related experience is desired

Responsibilities

  • Providing security coverage at campus access gate
  • Performing patrol duties in assigned areas to ensure positive group relations and activities
  • Protecting life and property, in compliance with government and management directives
  • Following company security procedures on all persons and vehicles entering and exiting the campus
  • Advising students and providing guidance for positive attitude and behavior in on center activities
  • Patrolling and monitoring center grounds and the surrounding vicinities as required ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolving potential or occurring problems
  • Protecting and securing buildings, center vehicles and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintaining log of findings and corrective action taken; controlling security vehicle assignments and use
  • Assisting in emergency evacuation, control and accountability of students and staff; responding to fire alarms; taking necessary steps to report fires; resetting fire alarm equipment
  • Issuing visitor badges and parking permits; issuing staff and student keys and badges; maintaining related records
  • Distributing petty cash, maintaining accountability logs and receipts, and auditing each shift
  • Assisting staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; conducting investigation of crimes and unauthorized activities as assigned
  • Reviewing student problems with counselors and student personnel officer
  • Assuming supervisory responsibility of all safety and security activities when assigned
  • Performing administrative functions such as logs, incident reports and accident documentation; acting as center dispatcher as assigned
  • Participating in student employability programs and activities
  • Supporting and promoting center zero tolerance policies
  • Providing positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
  • Promoting the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
  • Maintaining accountability of students and property; adhering to safety practices
  • Assisting, supporting and communicating with community life departments to ensure high level of service.
