Job Description As a Security Officer - Vehicle Checkpoint Driver in Ridgeville, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location in an access control role where you help manage entry points, check identification, track visitors, and monitor security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, document incidents, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent, professional presence and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • As a condition of employment, you must meet COLA DPSS/DHS requirements including a tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or residents by following site-specific security-related procedures and access control policies.
  • Control entry and exit points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and directing foot and vehicle traffic as needed.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and complete clear, timely documentation per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct security-related patrols and inspections of entrances, common areas, and perimeter points when assigned, noting hazards, unsecured doors, and/or policy concerns.
