About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operates over 50 locations in the US, providing vehicle services like repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing. ADESA is undergoing a multi-year expansion with significant investments in facilities, sales growth, and inventory. We are seeking motivated individuals to join us on this journey. This role reports to the Inspections or Operations Manager, focusing on executing processes to protect team members, customers, and assets. As the face of ADESA at the gates, you will ensure Inventory Control procedures are followed, utilize ADESA technology, and support vehicle location research. This is an hourly position that may involve various shifts and weekends.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience within a customer service environment
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships
  • Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way
  • Ability to accurately enter data on a handheld device or computer
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Requires computer data entry skills
  • Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles
  • Requires standing for extended periods
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.

Responsibilities

  • Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises.
  • Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
  • Verify only authorized individuals enter the property.
  • Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
  • Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
  • Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
  • Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
  • De-escalate difficult situations to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Input vehicle information including VIN number, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders and any other pertinent information using a handheld device.
  • Verify the VIN number being entered matches the VIN number on the shipper’s Bill of Lading.
  • Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and doors left unsecured.
  • Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety and security information.
  • Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers.
  • Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers.
  • Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment.
  • Practice and promote teamwork continuously.
  • Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
