Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with established site policies.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events according to site procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
