About The Position

As a Security Guard Full Time Patrol Inspection in Staten Island, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government ferry location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and assist visitors, employees, and passengers with professionalism. You will communicate observations, follow site procedures, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at ferry terminal and waterfront locations.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned terminal areas, passenger waiting areas, access points, perimeter locations, and adjacent waterfront spaces to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorized entry when required, and help maintain orderly pedestrian flow during ferry arrivals, departures, and periods of increased passenger volume.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
