About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Desk in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will help manage access control operations, monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support visitors and team members with strong customer service. In this role, you will help maintain a professional, visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents while reflecting our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by following site-specific access control procedures, badge and credential verification, and other security-related policies for a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, gates, loading areas, and/or assigned access control stations to help support authorized access and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Document visitor activity, contractor access, deliveries, and/or incident details in logs, reports, and other required records while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, trailer yards, dock areas, parking areas, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
