As a Security Guard Armed Patrol Officer in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical support calls, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining an armed presence in accordance with post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and other security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, sensitive areas, and high-traffic locations to help support authorized access, report suspicious behavior, and document security-related incidents according to site procedures.
  • Work closely with site leadership, first responders, and/or law enforcement when appropriate to relay information, support incident response, and complete required reports before the end of the shift.
