Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, commuters, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at public transportation facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned transit properties, platforms, stations, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel or public agencies as needed.
  • Observe and report conditions that may affect public access, facility operations, or security-related concerns, completing clear and accurate activity and incident reports.
  • Assist with access control, visitor direction, and compliance with posted rules while maintaining a professional presence in a public-facing government location.
