Requirements

  • Must have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, screening areas, and restricted access points while checking identification, observing visitor activity, and reporting unusual or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Maintain an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations while documenting daily activities, incidents, and security-related concerns in required reports.
