Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years Police/Security experience as supervisor
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required; Accredited Degrees or Certificates preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Homeland Security or Emergency Management Degree preferred
  • CPP or CPS Certified

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Security Department under the direction of the Security Manager, to protect persons, property and assets.  Provide a level of security commensurate to a high-grade gold mine. Develop and maintain security policies and procedures in support of Nevada Gold Mines standard policies and procedures.  Procedures are related, but not limited to, supervising and evaluating the performance of security guards, monitoring and ensuring the proper maintenance of security alarm systems, monitoring and ensuring the proper maintenance of Security Digital Recording systems.  These procedures will be applied by the Security Supervisor on a 24-hour basis.
  • Ensure Compliance with the Nevada Gold Mine Standards and report to the Security Manager any Noncompliance.  Require 100 % compliance with the Standards
  • Work with the Security Manager to ensure compliance with the Department of Homeland Security (COIs) documentation, reporting, and auditing.
  • Update training of security staff to include developing progression policy.  Write policies and procedures to maintain compliance with standards.  Manage and ensure security staff monitoring of CCTV systems and alarm systems while responding to and reporting variances from the standard as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Explosives Standards.  Update training of security staff and write procedures required to maintain compliance. Manage and ensure security monitoring of prill and explosives compounds CCTV systems, responding to threats as required.
  • Manage and utilize mobile surveillance equipment in special investigations as needed.
  • Attend scheduled or unscheduled regional security meetings and conferences.
  • Cooperate with corporate Security/Safety manager.
  • Participate in special investigations and provide high risk and emergency response plans as needed.
